Join our Run Club and get ready for the upcoming Sutherland 2 Surf event! Bring your energy, enthusiasm and a friend or two! Let's reach our fitness goals together!
Join us every Saturday morning for a refreshing group run as part of our training program for the Sutherland 2 Surf event. Each week, we explore different routes and distances, ensuring a new and exciting experience every time. Whether you're a seasoned runner or just looking to get active, this event is perfect for all fitness levels.
All run club members get a FREE Run Club hat, which you will receive at your first session.
Meeting Place: Sutherland Leisure Centre
Date & Time: Every Saturday, 6:30 AM (arrive by 6:15 AM)
Weekly Route & Distance:
Week 1: Leisure Centre → Rawson Ave → Waratah Park → Loop around the sports field paths → Return (4 km)
Week 2: Leisure Centre → Rawson Ave → President Ave Cycle Path → Return (5 km)
Week 3: Leisure Centre → Rawson Ave (southbound) → Pitt St → over Loftus station → Loftus Ave (northbound) → keep left onto Linden St → turn left on The Grand Parade → Oakwood St → Leonay St (eastbound) → Jannali Ave → over railway bridge →Toronto Pde (southbound) → Old Princes Hwy (southbound) → Rawson Ave → Leisure Centre (6 km)
Week 4: Leisure Centre → Rawson Ave → The Grand Parade → Oakwood St → River Rd path → cross Woronora Bridge → Menai Rd → Prices Circuit Reserve → back over bridge (Menai Rd) → Prince Edward Park Rd → Stairs to River Rd → Oakwood St → The Grand Parade → Rawson Ave → Leisure Centre (7km)
Week 5: Leisure Centre → Rawson Ave → turn right onto President Ave → turn right onto Glencoe St → Left onto Forest Rd → Bridge over Princes Hwy → Continue along Forest Rd → Hunter St → Wanganui Rd → turn left onto North West Arm Rd → Cross President Ave to Hotham Rd → Follow around to Avery Ave and Bath Road South (don't cross over railway) → turn right onto President Ave → right onto Oak Rd (through shopping centre) → left onto Flora St → Old Princes Hwy → Rawson Ave → Leisure Centre (7.7 km)
Week 6: Leisure Centre → Forest Rd → Bridge over Princes Hwy → Forest Rd → Oak Rd → Flora St → Over Sutherland Railway Station → Turn left onto East Pde (Southbound) → Loftus Ave → Over Loftus Railway Station → Rawson Ave → Leisure Centre (6.5 km)
Week 7: S2S course familiarisation - run from Sutherland to Miranda along the S2S route. Leisure Centre → Rawson Ave → Flora St → Clements Rd → Hotham Rd → Kingsway to Sylvania Rd → return the same way back to Leisure Centre (8.6km)
Week 8: Leisure Centre → Loftus Oval → Rawson Parade Trail (tramline trail) → Florence Parade Trail → Grays Point turnaround point → Temptation Fire Trail → Turnaround where the fire trail meets Temptation Creek Trail → Florence Parade Trail (towards Audley) → Leisure Centre (10.8 km)
Week 9: Leisure Centre → Forest Rd → Bridge over Princes Hwy → Forest Rd → Oak Rd → Flora St → Over Sutherland Railway Station → Turn left onto East Pde (Southbound) → Loftus Ave → Over Loftus Railway Station → Rawson Ave → Leisure Centre (6.5 km)
Week 10: No Saturday group run - rest up for the Sutherland 2 Surf event!
Important Note: Please arrive at 6:15 AM to ensure we can leave promptly at 6:30 AM.
