Accessibility and Inclusion
We have a number of supports at Sutherland, Engadine and Caringbah to enable participation for all abilities including disability pool hoists, aquatic wheelchairs and disability change rooms (featuring adult change table). Sutherland indoor pool also features beach access. Both gyms at Engadine and Sutherland are accessible via lift access and ramps.
Menai Indoor Sports Centre hosts a number of clubs and providers who run inclusive sports such as wheelchair rugby.
National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
The NDIS helps people with a disability to achieve their goals. This may include greater independence, community involvement, employment and improving wellbeing.
When approval has been granted for NDIS funding, rehabilitation, you need to complete the Service Request Form and:
- Attach a clearance/referral from your General Practitioner (GP)
- Attach a completed Pre-Exercise Screen form and Membership Application form (if applicable)
Return the completed forms to suthleisure@ssc.nsw.gov.au
Once we receive the above documents, your request will be processed, and we will provide an invoice.
Injury rehabilitation and workers compensation
Workplace and CTP claims can be catered for at our Leisure Centres. Exercise prescription aims to restore strength, technique and confidence to ensure that an injured person is equipped for lasting recovery.
When approval has been granted for rehabilitation or worker's compensation, you need to complete the Service Request Form and:
- Attach a clearance/referral from your General Practitioner (GP)
- Attach a completed Pre-Exercise Screen form and Membership Application form (if applicable)
Return the completed forms to suthleisure@ssc.nsw.gov.au
Once we receive the above documents, your request will be processed, and we will provide an invoice.
