Sutherland Shire Council is committed to supporting the health and wellbeing of our community. In September 2023 Council adopted the Leisure Centre Strategy and Implementation Plan that sets a framework for creating an active, safe, healthy, vibrant and liveable region over the next 15 years.
After extensive community and stakeholder consultation the strategy provides a long-term approach to improving our network of leisure facilities, including Sutherland Leisure Centre, Sutherland Indoor Sports Stadium, Caringbah Leisure Centre, Engadine Leisure Centre, Menai Indoor Sports Centre and Como Pool.
The Strategy is based on the following three areas of focus, each with a series of short, medium and long-term recommendations:
- Industry leading facilities
- Community engagement and activation
- Evidence-based products and services.
